Mamiya Transfers Camera and Optical Division Elmsford, NY, April 24, 2006 – Mamiya O/P has announced that it’s Optical Equipment Division, manufacturer of the leading medium format cameras and lenses will be transferred to a new company. The new company, Cosmo Digital Imaging Company, Ltd. was formed by Cosmos Scientific Systems, Inc., a leading company in IT technology. Cosmo Digital Imaging will be able to combine its software expertise with Mamiya’s photographic capabilities to further advance in the digital direction of professional photographic imaging technology. Building on Mamiya’s reputation and world wide distribution network, the new company will be able to achieve an even higher level of customer satisfaction. Service of Mamiya cameras, lenses and accessories will also be handled by the existing Mamiya distribution network. Coming in the wake of a number of industry changes, this positive development gives Mamiya a new direction and a vision for the future. April 20, 2006 - PhaseOne releases Capture One 3.7.4 (RELEASE version) Starting with 3.7.4 Capture One for Mac will be a Universal application. Capture One is amongst the first, if not the first, RAW workflow application for professional photographers, which runs natively on both PowerPC and the new Intel-based Macs. 3.7.4 supports RAW files from: Phase One P 21 Canon EOS 30D Pentax *Ist DL, DL2 and DS2 cameras Sony DSC-R1 Olympus E-330 Existing color profiles have been improved e.g. Phase One P 45, P 30 and the popular Nikon D200 camera profiles have all been improved to ensure even better default results in Capture One. Improved performance Both the capture rate and processing performance of Capture One have been significantly improved. Initial lab tests show up to 40 per cent capture rate performance with Phase One digital backs. The performance gain is particularily noticeable when running Capture One on the new Intel-based Macs. Wednesday April 12, 2006 - Extensis has updated the RAW file support in Portfolio 8 for both Windows and Mac, as well as added a new file filter that enables the Windows version of Portfolio to catalog Microsoft Word and Excel documents. Support for the cataloging of RAW files from 22 additional digital cameras and digital backs, including newer models from Canon, Nikon and Leaf, is the main change in RAW Filter 3.0, a plug-in for Portfolio 8. As with previous iterations of the RAW Filter for Portfolio, RAW Filter 3.0 has been developed by Bibble Labs for Extensis.
